If you’re looking for something to do with your sunny weekends before the school holidays start, then take a look at below at some of the incredible events coming up over the next couple of weeks. 

 

Family Fun Day at City Park 

5th July – FREE

On Saturday, 5th July, head to City Park for a space-themed family fun day, with plenty of free activities for everyone. From cosmic face painting to performances and roaming characters, this free day is a fantastic day of discovery for the whole family. 

 

Haworth Haddock 

5th July – Adults £31 | Children £20 

Returning for 2025, this is your chance to experience the best local fish and chips while travelling through the Worth Valley on the steam train. Starting from Oxenhope, the train will make two trips to Keighley where you will receive your fish and chips from local chippy Jacks Fisheries.  On your second arrival at Keighley, there will be a band ready to entertain you while you stretch your legs, or dance the night away on the platform. 

 

Haworth Festival 

11th – 21st July – Various £ 

The Haworth Festival brings music, literature, comedy and much more to the village to celebrate the cultural heritage of the area. 

 

Over the duration of the festival, there is an incredible range of events to get involved with from dance workshops and wellness walks, to a seminar day about the Bröntes and a sea shanties show.

The Witch Trial of Mary Sykes at Bolling Hall

12th July – FREE 

Taking place at Bolling Hall, during the trial, children ages seven and up will get to meet Mary Sykes and Justice of the Peace William Tempest and decide whether Mary is guilty or not guilty of being a witch. Children will also get the chance to make their own lucky charms using crystals and herbs.

Sound and Vision Family Day at the National Science and Media Museum. 

12th July – FREE 

To celebrate the opening of the brand-new Sound and Vision galleries at the National Science and Media Museum, visitors will be able to enjoy a day full of family-focused activities as well as the opportunity to see the new galleries and meet the people involved in making it. 

Entrance to the museum is free, but make sure to book your tickets in advance at the link above.

 

Shipley Summer Special  

19th July – FREE

The annual Shipley Summer Special is taking place in the town centre on Saturday 19th July and this year’s theme is Memories of Shipley. Complete with historical photo exhibitions, live music, face painting, and games, there will be plenty to keep all the family busy this summer. There will also be a market which will showcase local traders available to browse during the day.
