Earlier this month, our Managing Directors, James and John, headed down to Cleckheaton Golf Club for the annual Tee Sponsors Day, joined by two guests, and even came back from the day with some silverware!
The Tee Sponsors Day brings together the local businesses who support the club through the year and continues to be a fantastic day year in, year out, with plenty of healthy competition between the sponsors’ teams.
We’ve been a sponsor at Cleckheaton Golf Club since 2021, and it’s one of a number of commitments we’ve made across the area over the years, including Gomersal Cricket Club,, Spenborough & District Athletic Club, and Eliza’s Picnic, the annual charity event in Cleckheaton.
There’s no clever strategy behind any of it. We’ve been selling and letting homes around Cleckheaton, Birkenshaw, Wibsey and the surrounding villages for a long time, and the people we meet at valuations are the same people we see on the touchline, at the picnic, and on the green. Being part of the community is simply what being a truly local estate agent looks like.
On the golf day, James Watts said: “Days like this are one of the better parts of the job. You get a round of golf, you catch up with people you’ve known for years, and celebrate our shared support of a fantastic local club.
“We’ve supported the club for years now, and we’ll keep doing it because it’s a fantastic facility, run by good people, and it’s very much part of the community we work in.
“This year we even managed to finish the day with a second-place trophy, so that really rounded off what was a great event at the course.”
