Earliest memory

Working during school holidays at the original Bolton Road office, doing administrative tasks like photocopying, filing and sticking photos on brochures. Also, on a Bank Holiday in winter being literally dragged to a house to help clear it out. You can’t say we just get the glamorous jobs – if there are any?!

What does 40 years of Robert Watts mean to you?

I sometimes think that in this age of social media people aren’t always impressed with numbers unless it’s a ‘million this or a thousand that’. But, to be successful for 40 years in highly competitive markets, through numerous recessions and challenges like Brexit, and the impact of online agents, takes some doing. The fact we keep moving forward is a testament to that!

Career highlight

Still waiting for that magical high of winning top estate agency at the ESTAS, but I suppose being voted within the top 3% of agents in the country at last year’s event was special. As well as, all four family members being past President of the Bradford & District Auctioneers and Estate Agents Association.

What does the next 40 years look like?

See the back of COVID-19 first and foremost and continue developing the brand and business by bringing new staff through to keep the company successful! Whether my kids will be daft enough to join the business is unknown (haha), but it would be nice for it to be an option to continue the family line.
