Considered by many as the month of new beginnings, it may not surprise you that March has been revealed as the best month to sell your home.
Buyer demand is up 32% compared to the same period last year, but that’s not all; they’re also selling faster, in about 39 days, compared with the previous 59-day average.
Home-valuation requests to estate agents are also up 27% since the start of the year compared to last year, which shows that buyers are serious about buying, not just window shopping. In short, if you’re looking to sell quickly, March is the time to do it.
Getting into the great outdoors
This is especially good news if you have a garden, as searches for gardens jumped by 70% in two years. Long term trends as a result of the pandemic mean people value their own outdoor space, but this doesn’t have to mean wide sprawling gardens. Balconies, shared outdoor areas, and even window boxes can make a property more attractive to potential buyers wanting to make the most of the great outdoors.
What does this mean for buyers?
It might be the assumption that because so many people are looking to buy in Spring, it could be harder to find your dream home.
Although the market is buzzing with people looking to buy, Rightmove has revealed that new listings are also up 11% compared to the same period last year, so there are plenty of options on the market to explore.
