The festive season has finally arrived, and there are so many fantastic Christmas events happening across the Bradford area and beyond. With the end of term just around the corner, we have picked out a few of our favourite events that are perfect for families.

 

Christmas Grotto – Kirkgate Shopping Centre

19th December – 24th December ¦ 10:30am – 12:30pm & 1:00pm – 3:00pm, Free

Santa’s Grotto is back at the Kirkgate Shopping Centre this December. Take your children to visit Santa at the Christmas Grotto throughout Christmas week, plus every Saturday and Sunday on the lead-up to the big day.

No booking necessary.

 

The Greatest Family Christmas Show – Craiglands Hotel, Ilkley

18th December & 23rd December, 1pm – 4pm, £12.50

This fully interactive show features all of your children’s favourite characters. Performing songs from Encanto, Aladdin, Frozen, Mary Poppins, The Greatest Showman and so much more, this superb show will give you memories that last a lifetime! After the show, join the cast for a meet and greet, plus a photo opportunity.

Real Food Ilkley Christmas Market – The Grove

18th December 10am – 3pm, Free

A special festive edition of Ilkley’s Real Food Market with stalls offering fine food, drinks and homewares. This is a fantastic opportunity to purchase your final items for your Christmas table, plus stocking stuffers for your friends and family.

The Snowman and The Nutcracker – St George’s Hall, Bradford

18th December, 2:30pm, £16

The Snowman and The Nutcracker are brought to life thanks to the orchestra of Opera North. This live orchestral experience is perfect for bringing the magic of Christmas to your family.

Christmas Eve Carol Concert – Bradford Cathedral

24th December, 1pm – 2pm, Free

Bradford Cathedral’s annual Christmas Eve recital features traditional Christmas carols, music, poetry and festive stories. The recital is free to attend; however, places are limited, so early booking is encouraged via the website here.

 

Elf Explorer – Haworth

10th, 11th, 17th, 18th, 22nd, 23rd & 24th December, Starting from £22.

Starting at Oxenhope station, this journey along the Worth Valley is an amazing experience for families, full of Christmas magic. On your journey, you will be joined by Father Christmas, and his helpers as your children write their letters to Santa. Refreshments will be provided for both children and adults, with the children aboard also receiving their first gift of the season!
