There’s so much to do for under £5 in Bradford to keep the children entertained this Easter holiday. We’ve come up with a list of activities for the whole family to enjoy.

Throughout the Easter holidays and into May, the National Science and Media Museum has an exhibition dedicated to Akbal Singh Kang, a Punjabi migrant who documented his family’s day-to-day experiences when moving to Bradford. He came to the city with his family in 1961 to start a new life, and the display provides a glimpse into what life was like for newly arrived migrants in Bradford during a time of unprecedented social change. The exhibition is entitled ‘4,000 Miles from Home at National Science and Media Museum’ and is free.

At East Riddlesden Hall, from the 9th to the 13th April, there are Easter egg hunts for just £3. They will take place in the beautiful gardens and nature trails, and upon completion, your little ones will receive a Rainforest Alliance chocolate egg.

To celebrate the arrival of spring, Robertshaw’s Farm Shop is welcoming springtime animals for children to pet. There will also be opportunities to ride a pony, take a photo on the farmer’s tractor, meet the Easter Bunny, and participate in a raffle. The Springtime Festival will take place from the 13th to the 18th April.

On the 16th, at Roberts Park, there will be international street food vendors and drinks from the ‘The Showtime Inn’, the UK’s largest mobile pub. You can sit back and enjoy some live music on the bandstand with Eddie Earthquake and the Tremors, Guiseley Jazz and Ecky Thump. Also, they’ll be Shakespeare inspired comedy performances and circus workshops. You’ll experience the lantern festival with samba bands and a fire finale if you stay late.

A free creative writing workshop all about nature is being hosted at the Denso Marston Nature Reserve. You will be immersed in nature, both inside and outside, to inspire your creative writing.

Not only is there loads to do over Easter, but Bradford is full of fun activities all year round – check out Visit Bradford for more information.
