Bradford

Somewhere The Musical | 25th – 26th July 

A spellbinding musical telling the story of an estranged Prince and Princess, Somewhere The Musical is a brand new show featuring music from folk pop duo The Dunwells. With songs that feel ready for the West End stage, this musical is not one to be missed!

BD: Festival | 28th – 29th July 

Perfect for all the family, the BD: Festival is here to transform Bradford’s city centre with brilliant street theatre performances, immersive cultural installations, plus the world premiere of Balbir Singh’s Cricket Green. 

Free to enjoy, BD: Festival is one not to be missed! 

The Yorkshire Wartime Experience | 11th – 13th August 

Running for three days from 10am to 5pm, The Yorkshire Wartime experience brings history to life with over 500 military vehicles and more than 50 living history re-enactment groups. This is a unique opportunity to enjoy a great family day out to commemorate, celebrate and educate wartime history.

Huddersfield 

Family Nature Trail at Cliffe House | 24th July – 1st September 

At only £2.50, Cliffe House’s family nature trail is great value for money. With markers to guide you around the grounds, the trail features mature woodlands and stunning open glades. Follow the map to collect letters along the trail and once completed, you can claim a treat from the kiosk.

Huddersfield LEGO Trail | Throughout August 

If Lego is your thing or you’re simply wanting to bring back some childhood memories, why not visit Huddersfield’s Lego trail. Beginning on the 1st August, the Lego trail is back for the third year in a row. Supported by Huddersfield BID, there will be 10 giant new Lego models to find through the LoyalFree app. By scanning the barcode on each model you will be entered into a draw to win a big Lego prize!

Leeds 

Royal Armouries Summer | 26th July – 3rd September

From horse shows to combat demonstrations, the Royal Armouries has all the action this summer! Expert historical horse riders will show their skill-at-arms twice daily, with an opportunity to visit the stables to meet the horses and their grooms. Inside the museum, you can discover historical characters, dramatic performances, weaponry and exciting live combat demonstrations, alongside exploring the five galleries.

The armouries and shows are free to enter however  pre-booking your place online is essential  to secure your spot. 

 

Kirkstall Abbey Birds, Bees, Bats and Bugs | 25th July – 1st September 

Ready for a close encounter with a bird of prey? This is just one of the activities taking place this summer at Kirkstall Abbey. 

Inspired by the nature surrounding the abbey, the Birds, Bees, Bats and Bugs event will offer you and your children the opportunity to join in with a range of events from making clay bugs to spending a whole day devoted to bees. 

Open from 10am to 4pm daily, there is no booking required for this event, with free entry for Leeds residents. 

Leeds Bear Hunt 2023 | 1st July – 9th September

Want to take part in some family fun while supporting a good cause? 

The Leeds Bear Hunt is a large public art trail, raising money for Leeds Children’s Hospital, bringing Michael Rosen’s famous “We’re going on a Bear Hunt” story to life. 

Hidden in plain sight across the city, the 35 giant bear sculptures have been individually designed by local, national and international creatives, all with their own story to tell.
