Ready for two weeks of fun? This Easter there are so many brilliant family activities taking place across West Yorkshire, from egg hunts to incredible shows. 

Read on to learn more about the activities happening over the next two weeks in Bradford, Kirklees, Leeds and Huddersfield. 

Bradford 

Easter Kids Club | Pictureville Presents Cinema 

Watch your family favourites for the special price of £3 on Friday the 29th and Saturday the 30th of March at The Studio next to the Alhambra. Starting from 11am, the special Easter showings include Alice in Wonderland, Peter Rabbit and Zootropolis. 

Before the screenings, families are also invited to take part in spring crafting activities.

Totally Chaotic History Museum Tour | Cliffe Castle 

Explore the world of Ancient Egypt in celebration of Greg Jenner’s new bookTotally Chaotic History Ancient Egypt Gets Unrulyat Cliffe Castle this Easter. Children are invited to imagine themselves as a pharaoh planning what to take to the afterlife, design their own hieroglyphics and discover intriguing objects.

Running from the 22nd of March to the 14th of April, this event is completely free to enter. Discover more via the Bradford Museums website

Exciting Science | St George’s Hall 

A brand new captivating show, Exciting Science is an educational experience designed for children aged four and above. The event is filled with experiments, from a volcanic eruption to smoke blasters and a vacuum missile launcher

Kirklees & Huddersfield 

Huddersfield BID Easter Egg Hunt | Town Centre 

Ten big eggs will be hidden around the town centre for visitors to find between the 9th and 24th of April. Head to the Hello Huddersfield facility on Market Avenue to collect your map and clues on the location of every egg. Once you have spotted them all, head back to receive your sweet treat! 

 

Family Fun Day | Beaumont Park 

This free event is perfect for all the family and will feature Sundown Swing playing a huge selection of big band music from the 1930s onwards in the bandstand. No booking is necessary for this event, just make your way down to the park between 12pm and 4pm. There’ll be fun activities to get involved in, crafts stalls to browse and a burger van serving up tasty treats.

If you would like to contribute to the Friends of Beaumont Park to ensure these events can continue in the future, a bucket collection will be taking place during the performance. 

Easter Eggspress | Whistlestop Valley

Hop aboard the Easter Eggspress this bank holiday weekend with the Wonderland characters for a fun-filled day and the chance to meet the Easter bunny. Challenge the Queen of Hearts to croquet, make an Easter crown with the help of the Hatter, or see if you can beat Alice in an egg and spoon race, plus much more all included in the price of your ticket.

Leeds

Leodis Space Agency | Briggate, Trinity Leeds, City Station & Merrion Centre

Taking place from 23rd March until 14th April, Leodis Space Agency will be arriving to deliver space-themed activities for all the family. From journeying through the solar system to experiencing a mixed reality alien zoo, there is so much to get involved with throughout the day and into the evening. Learn more about what’s on here

 

Cirque Du Soleil | First Direct Arena 

Head down to the First Direct Arena from the 4th to the 7th April to see OVO, an exciting Cirque du Soleil experience exploring the beauty of biodiversity. Filled with thrilling acrobatics, the show is comprised of 100 people from 25 different countries, and is described as “a non-stop riot of energy and movement”.

Rainbow Rabbit Easter Trail | Harewood House

Explore Harewood with your little ones this Easter and find all of the colourful eggs around the Lakeside Path, plus take on challenges in the Rainbow Rabbit Arena from hula hooping to hopscotch. Reach the end of the trail and find all of the eggs to receive a chocolate reward from PLAY in CHOC

There’s A Monster In Your Show | Leeds Play House 

Tom Fletcher’s interactive adventures are taking the stage this Easter at Leeds Play House. For 50 minutes, you and your little ones will be treated to a high-energy performance adapted from the hugely popular “Who’s In Your Book?” series – the perfect introduction to live theatre!
